Roger Michell (Le Week-end, Notting Hill) adapts and directs this mystery thriller based on Daphne Du Maurier's novel of deadly suspicion and forbidden love, previously adapted with Olivia de Havilland and Richard Burton in 1952. Set on the spectacular Cornish coastline, young Englishman Philip (Sam Claflin) has his suspicions about his cousin Rachel (Rachel Weisz) when her husband (Philip's guardian, to whom he is heir) dies overseas. When a deeply incriminating letter emerges, Philip vows to find out once and for all. Despite warnings from those close to him, his feelings begin to cloud his judgement - his feelings for the beautiful, notorious Rachel...
