KELLIE CASTLE & GARDENS
The Drying Green, from 23-30 June 2019
Throughout our festival week (from 23 June), come and enjoy a large-scale art installation at Kellie Castle and Garden inspired by the humble village drying green. These were the communal places where women (mainly!) could dry the family washing but also meet, chat and pass the time. We celebrate that sense of community by stringing vibrant banners across the wild meadow at Kellie, creating an art installation that is also a maze, a playground for all ages.

The Garden Party, Saturday 29 June 2019
from midday until 4pm
On 29 June, The Drying Green becomes the backdrop to The Garden Party, a festive afternoon of informal, fun, lively, merry, family-friendly music. Entry to the Drying Green is free, and there will be pop up concerts during the afternoon including the Tullis Russell Mills Band at 1pm and 3pm.
Parking is available for a charge of £2 (free to NTS members).
Why not make a day of it? Combine it with a visit to historic Kellie (charges apply); drop into the many artist studios open all weekend as part of East Neuk Open Studios; add another ENF concert to your wish list.
NB These are outdoor events, so if the weather looks like it will turn inclement we may have to cancel the pop-up concerts, and the drying green may only be viewable from a distance. Before travelling please check our website, Facebook or Twitter for updates, or call our box office.
